This
tattoo, which is inspired by a painting by Peter
O'Neill called "Two Minutes of Silence". This one
has the most interesting
story behind it.
I
had seen this painting on the web site for the "Fallen
Brothers
Foundation", and had taken it by the studio shortly after
getting the second tattoo. Aaron thought it would look good,
but said he would need to complete the lower part of the firefighter's
legs to make it look right. He
is always booked at the studio, being one of the best artists
there, and
said it would probably take some time to get to it. When my
wife, my son
and I were in New York on vacation last summer, my wife and
I went to the New York Fire Museum; I saw the painting there
and was sure that it was going to be the next tattoo I'd get.
When we got home, I stopped by Art With A Pulse again. Aaron
said that he was booked through the month of August and into
September, but to check with his brother Brian, who did the
bookings. When Brian opened up the calendar, the first day that
Aaron was available turned out to be September 11th. Needless
to say, everyone in the place was floored, given what we were
going to be doing. This one took 5 hours to do, and there were
quite a few times that Aaron had to take a break, because the
meaning behind it was starting to overwhelm him.
