23-Year NYFD Vet Was Among First on Scene
Nov. 26, 2001
Faustino
Apostol was the kind of guy who would come running across the parking lot if he
saw someone carrying one too many bags of groceries, according to his daughter-in-law
Deborah Apostol.
On
Sept. 11, he was among the first on the scene to respond to people in distress.
Apostol,
55, was on duty that morning with Engine 24/Ladder 5 in the SoHo section of Manhattan
where he had worked since 1998.
He
is survived by his wife of 33 years, the former Kathleen Neville, two sons, Justin
and Christopher, two grandsons and his mother, Lena Apostol.
