Donald Regan was a "fireman's fireman" who always appeared humbled by the citations and awards he received for heroism. He shied away from the spotlight and concentrated on the job and his family, his passions Comrades recall him as one of the toughest they knew. Regan raised four children – Shane, 25; Jim, 23; Peter, 20, and Jill, 22 – with his wife of 26 years, Theresa. He was 47.
