Kevin Prior (Lieutenant)
Died at age 28 on 9/11/01 while on duty

Kevin Prior gave his life in the line of duty while taking part in the massive rescue of occupants of the World Trade Center following the terrorist attacks on America. Firefighter Prior was a member of the FDNY's elite Squad 252 in Bushwick, Brooklyn which specializes in special rescues and counter-terrorism operations. Mr. Prior also served as Lt. with Advance Hook, Ladder and Engine Company #1 of the BFD. Kevin joined the BFD at the age of 14 as a Junior firefighter, becoming a regular firefighter at 18. He was a graduate of St. Barnabas Catholic School and Holy Trinity High. More than two thousand firefighters, both career and volunteer, joined family, friends and dignitaries including Mayor Rudy Giuliani in saying a final farewell during departmental services on October 5th. Kevin's leadership and friendship will be missed.
