Glenn Perry began his career in uniformed service as a New Yorkpolice officer in 1982, but eight years later joined the fire department. Patrick Perry saidhis brother changed careers for two reasons: to follow in his father’s footsteps, and becausethe fire department had work hours that allowed him to spend more time with his wife andchildren. “He was very generous and very family oriented,” said his brother. “He would doanything for anybody and he never wanted anything in return. He was selfless.”
