I only had the honor of working with Mike a few times at L132...He
was so proud and motivated to get a great house "THE EYE OF THE
STORM"...he carried on their traditions and was THE sharpest probie
i ve ever met...He knew how to put together and use every tool
on the rig ...with his eyes closed...he was destined for chief...the
dept lost a real good piece of the future when he was murdered
...god bless him and I know hes riding on a rig up ther in heaven
...a HERO...too damn young to go but our only solace is that his
name will NEVER be forgotten ..the eye of the storm now has an
aerial ladder in heaven...what a great crew it has too...

I had the pleasure of knowing and growing up with Mike. I wanted
to express my heart-felt concern for his entire family. Mike was,
and still is a hero in my eyes; he lost his life while saving
those of others - the mark of a real man. God Bless.

I met Mike back in 1994/5. He was a probie in Freeport, NY - Wide
Awake Engine Company 216. He will be forever remembered. I will
miss our chats and sharing a piece of Or-Range gum with him.

I worked with Mike before he became a firefighter. I am a Paramedic
out of Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica N.Y. I am sure he was
a fantastic firefighter, because he was surely a truly dedicated
EMT. I am proud to have known him. I ran into Mike's sister in
Target a few months after 9/11 and saw his name on his FDNY workshirt,
I had to let her know what an altruistic person he was. I still
think of Mike alot, to this day. What a great man. God bless you
and your family. Tim Miller EMT-P Ex-Capt. Truck One Garden City

I met Michael at Nassau Community College in 1994. We were in
an orientation class together. We exchanged phone numbers and
became good friends. He used to take me to the beach and to the
Freeport Fire house. He would try on his Fireman gear for me.
Our first movie we rented was "Back Draft". I knew his passions
were firefighting and the beach. He was such a perfect gentlemen.
I never met anyone so handsome and kind. I hope he is in a better
place now.

I FEEL EXTREMELY FORTUNATE TO HAVE KNOWN MIKE. I ORIGINALLY MET
HIM AS A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER, ME FROM BALDWIN AND MIKE WHILE
IN HEMPSTEAD AND FREEPORT. I ALSO KNEW MIKE FROM EMS IN QUEENS,
ALONG WITH HIS OLD PARTNER DOUG WHOM I KNOW FROM BOTH INSTITUTIONS.
MIKE WAS A GREAT PERSON AND SOMEONE MEETING HIM FOR THE FIRST
TIME COULD TELL HE WAS SPECIAL. TO THIS DAY I ALWAYS THINK OF
HIM, HEARTBROKEN HE WAS TAKEN FROM US. MAYBE I'M SELFISH BUT I
MISS HIM VERY MUCH. I ONLY HOPE I CAN BE HALF THE PERSON HE WAS
AND ALWAYS WILL BE. MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY
AND JAMIE. SINCERELY, ED PALMER TRUCK CO. NO. 1 BALDWIN FIRE DEPARTMENT,

Mike, I didn't know you, however, I feel compelled to write. My
son Michael, perished not too long ago. The family had drawn together
on 9/11 to visit his grave because, it's his birthday. I hope
you fellas get together and visit a while.

Father we entrust our brother Michael to your mercy. You loved
him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares,
give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise
where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but
only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever
and ever. Michael, I pray for you and your family everyday.
