John F. Heffernan FDNY
John F. Heffernan was born in New York City, New York and was a resident of Middle Village. He lost his life on the morning of September 11 during the World Trade Center attack. John worshipped at St. Camillus Church. He was a member of Ladder # 11 for the Fire Department of New York. He also was a musician, songwriter and member of "The Bully’s Band." John was a veteran of the Armed Forces. He is preceded in death by his father, Anthony and his brother Patrick. He is survived by his mother, Mary (Nee Bohan) Heffernan; his wife, Lori (Nee Brawe) Heffernan; a daughter, Samantha; two brothers, Michael and Brian; a sister, Deirdre; and several grandchildren. Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Inc. was held at St. Charles Cemetery.
