He
Couldn't Wait For His Wedding Day
October
2, 2001
Thomas
Casoria was looking forward to Oct. 13. That is when the 29-year-old
firefighter was getting married.
Casoria
is believed to have perished searching for survivors in Two World
Trade Center. For the past three years, Casoria had been with
Engine Co. 22 on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
A
graduate of Holy Cross High School in Flushing, Casoria was an
all-star in football and baseball there.
He
lived in Whitestone and enjoyed traveling to play in sports competitions
such as a recent game in Detroit with the fire department's softball
team.
"He
had cousins and many friends who were firefighters," said
his father,
Carlo Casoria. "It's something he always wanted to do for
many years."
He
is survived by a brother, Carlo, who is also a city firefighter,
and a
sister, Janine.
