I
met Joe once when we were visiting NYC with a group from my volunteer
company upstate.I felt a good presence about him, my father and
he had spoken for some time I sat and listened. The one thing
that sticks in my mind was when my dad asked him how old he was
and how long he had done it, he said how long and said "and
I dont know what I'd do if they made me retire." Rescue 1
had a call, and ... the boys were gone. We waited a while and
they came back, finished the tour, and all the guys were glad
to sit and talk. God bless them all!

Jesus
said, "No greater love hath any man than that he should lay
down his life for his friends." How much greater, then, was
this man's love, that he laid down his life for people he never
knew? God bless the heroes of 9-11-01. America must never, ever
forget, but must resolve to grow stronger still in honor of men
like Joseph Angelini Sr.

It
is very sad to lose such a wonderful neighbor. Although I never
knew Joseph personally, being from Lindenhurst I have surely crossed
paths with him. I am also sure that a person such as him is in
a better place. Sorry for your loss.
