Squad 288
Memorial Service
held on November 11, 2001
A
flame greater than that of two jet planes was extinguished on September
11th, at the World Trade Center disaster. Firefighter Timothy Welty, of FDNY
Squad 288, was killed in the line of duty, along with hundreds of his brothers.
Few people were more alive than Timothy, making the reality of his death
all the more difficult to accept. Tim began his career as a firefighter in
1993 at Engine 233 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. He is survived by a loving family
who cherish his memory and miss him very much, including wife of seven years
Delia MastromauroWelty, his son Jake, daughter Julia, Mother Adele Welty,
Father William Welty, brothers Chris and Darren Welty, sister Melinda Nugent.
