A
Career Change Made Him a Firefighter - Nov. 22, 2001
Jeffrey
Patrick Walz was in the middle of a perfectly good career as
an engineer when the call of the fire truck became too loud to ignore.
So, the Tuckahoe, N.Y., resident followed the path blazed by his father
and became a New York City firefighter. He worked with Ladder 9 in
the East Village. While some in his unit made it out alive from the
crumbling
Twin Towers on Sept. 11, Walz did not. Walz's wife, Rani, said her
husband was a big, but sweet man whose pride and joy was their 3-year-old
son,
Bradley. (Newsday Article)
