Enjoyed Simple Things - Nov. 27, 2001
As
a New York City firefighter, William O'Keefe saw the frailty
of life. Maybe that's why he cherished the little things. Whether
it was a run along the ocean, fiddling with his guitar or fooling
around with his dogs, O'Keefe knew how to appreciate the simple
things. He was a great father and husband as well as an exemplary
firefighter who was promoted to captain in May. He died while
responding to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers.
O'Keefe is survived by his wife, Ginny; his daughters, Tara
and Kaitlin; his father, John and three brothers, Robert, John
and Timothy. -- Compiled by Newsday
