Edward Harlin First a Cop and Then a Dedicated Firefighter September
28, 2001 Daniel Harlin, 41, was a police officer in the Bronx before
he became
a firefighter in Manhattan. Altogether he had more than 15 years in police
and fire department service. Like most firefighters, he loved his job, said
his wife, Debbie. Attached to Manhattan's Battalion No. 8, Harlin was last
seen in the World Trade Center Tower Two, where he was helping with the evacuation.
Born in Flushing, Harlin grew up in College Point and was graduated from
Flushing High School in 1977. He made his home in Kent in Putnam County with
his wife and their three children, aged 9, 7 and 2. (Newsday Article)
