Joseph Gullickson and his wife Naoemi would have celebrated
their fifth wedding anniversary on Sept. 28. At 37, the Staten
Island native was enamored of life and his growing family. Gullickson
could often be found on the street of his West Brighton neighborhood
pushing his 1-year old daughter Isabel down the street in her
stroller while older daughter Amanda, 3, rode next to him on
her scooter or bicycle. A fire department lieutenant at Ladder
Co. 101 in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Gullickson was known to look
out for his men. On Sept. 11, he led his firefighters to the
inferno raging at the World Trade Center. He, along with six
of his men, never came out. A graduate of Moore Catholic High
School, Gullickson was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament R.C.
Church in West Brighton and enjoyed playing basketball as a
member of the FDNY league. The World War II buff loved dogs,
especially his Rottweiler, Lucy. He entertained friends by spitting
out one-liners from "The Honeymooners” TV show, and his diverse
musical tastes ranged from the Grateful Dead and Frank Sinatra.
