Fiore was a city firefighter known for his calm composure in
everything hedid. “No matter what the job was, Mike never
got excited,” said fellow New York firefighterDon Dillon.
“He took everything the same way — never changed
his composure.” Fiore was workinga 24-hour shift on Sept.
11 when he responded to the World Trade Center attacks. His
threechildren remember him fondly. “He was very quiet,
very low-key, but always there foreveryone,” said his
mother Madeline Fiore. --The Associated Press
