Firefighter Kevin Bracken
Engine 40
Memorial Service was held on
November 7, 2001.
Kevin
Bracken was a graduate of the Central Islip High School Class
of 1982. His 8 year career as a New York City Firefighter started
with Engine 23. He eventually made his home with Engine Co.
40 - Ladder Co. 35.
On
the morning of September 11, 2001, Kevin's company was dispatched
to the World Trade Center. Tragically Kevin and his unit of
11 other firefighters were lost.
To
honor their friend and classmate, who so bravely sacrificed
his life to save the lives of others, the Class of 1982 has
established The Kevin Bracken Memorial Scholarship.
All
CIHS alumni are welcome to donate. Those wishing to do so, please
